A list of optical disc drives compatible with dumping GD-ROM discs.

GDs contain two distinctly different "Areas" of data ("LD Area" and "HD Area"), separated by a ring. Both Areas are dumped with a separate process.

LD Area

For dumping the LD Area, the same methodology applies for dumping a CD-ROM. The list of compatible drives for dumping LD Area is here.

HD Area

The HD Area dumping the process is different, use one of the recommended drives below:

  • HD Area: GD-ROM (Pressed) - (install Kreon firmware):
    • Samsung TSSTCorp models:
      • TS-H353A aka SH-D163A
      • TS-H352C aka SH-D162C
      • TS-H192C
  • HD Area: GD-R (Burned Preproduction) - Working to some at least extent (WARNING: needs significant additional testing):
    • Plextor: PX-708A, PX-755A, PX-755SA, PX-4012TA[1]
