General Notes

  • AACS keys output includes a "DiscId" which can be put in the comments as a replacement for PVD/EXE-Date. DiscID: YYYY.MM.DD
  • BD-R PICs need to be added to comment field as the length is longer than standard PICs and gets cut off by the site.
  • Subtitle languages get added to the language field. If Audio language differs, it can be included in comments. Audio Language / Subtitle Language

General Eligibility Criteria

Most BD-Video discs that are eligible for Redump include game-related video (promotional, game coverage, etc), and in most cases, the Category should be "Video". However, there are some other cases:

  • BD Movies with game demos are allowed. -> (Demos for PS3, PC, etc -- NOT Flash games) --- Category for these should be "Demos"
  • BD Games are allowed, but games must be the primary content of the disc and be interactive. --- Category for these should be "Games"
  • Interactive driving theory test / highway code etc. instructional videos are not eligible.

Languages

As a general rule, the consideration for whether a language should be added to the field relies on whether the user can access the main content of the disc in that language (i.e. watch a film the whole way through, play all levels of an interactive BD-Video).

In most cases, this will mean that all audio and subtitle languages available should be added to the field, however there may be some nuanced cases where a different approach is required - for example where certain subtitles/languages are only available for certain features or titles e.g. http://redump.org/disc/80741/

Editions / Datfile versions

Where a BD-Video disc is bundled as a bonus disc with a game, the edition and datfile version should always be set to "X Game Bundle".

If the disc is bundled with a release of the game for more than one system (see e.g. http://redump.org/disc/81769/), then the Edition field should represent each individual system (PS3 Game Bundle, PS4 Game Bundle), while the Datfile Version field should use the single term "Multisystem Game Bundle"

Please note that where a BD-Video disc is bundled as a bonus disc with a book or magazine, the edition may be set as "Book Bundle" / "Magazine Bundle", but the datfile version should be left blank.

Pre-Order Bonus discs, First-Print Bonus discs, and other similar types of discs/editions that are not always bundled, do not get a datfile modifier. Additionally, if multiple editions of a disc exist, but not ALL of them are bundles, there is no datfile modifier. For example, if a disc has an Original release and a PC Game Bundle release, there is no datfile modifier unless one is required due to a collision.

The following standardized terms are used:

  • 3DO Game Bundle (3DO)
  • 3DS Game Bundle (3DS)
  • CD-i Game Bundle (CD-i)
  • DC Game Bundle (Dreamcast)
  • FMT Game Bundle (FM Towns)
