PC Accelerator (sometimes shortened to PCXL) was a PC gaming magazine. It ran for 22 issues, starting in September 1998, and its last issue was #22, in June 2000. When the magazine closed, many of its staff went on to work on other related publications, such as Daily Radar and PC Gamer, and Mike Salmon, its editor in chief, started Official Xbox Magazine. The discs featured a combination of demos, patches, updates, and videos related to the magazine's contents. Some issues included two discs.

The editors of PC Gamer released a special issue of the magazine (titled PCXL) in Fall 2007. This issue did not include a disc.
